How to Download Instagram Reels in HD (iPhone, Android & PC)

· 3 min read · savetool.org Team

Instagram lets you *save* Reels to a private collection, but that only bookmarks them inside the app. To keep a real video file you can watch offline, edit or back up, you need to download Instagram Reels as MP4. Here's the quickest way.

How to download Instagram Reels

  1. Open Instagram and find the Reel.
  2. Tap the paper-plane (Share) icon, then Copy link. (Or tap ⋯ → Copy link.)
  3. Open savetool.org and pick Instagram Downloader, or go to the Instagram Reels Downloader.
  4. Keep HD MP4 (video) selected, paste the link, and tap Download.
  5. Tap Download HD MP4.

Download Reels on iPhone

Downloads go to Files → Downloads. Open the video, tap Share → Save Video to add it to your camera roll. Full walkthrough: save Instagram Reels to camera roll.

Download Reels on Android

Chrome saves Reels to your Download folder and they show up in Gallery and Google Photos.

Download Reels on PC or Mac

Copy the Reel URL from instagram.com in your browser's address bar and paste it into the downloader. See download Instagram videos on PC & Mac.

Why can't I download some Reels?

  • Private accounts: only public Reels can be downloaded.
  • Age-restricted or region-locked Reels may require a logged-in session and won't work.
  • Deleted or archived Reels no longer exist on Instagram's servers.

Download just the Reel's audio

Switch to MP3 (audio) to save the song or voiceover from a Reel — or use the dedicated Instagram to MP3 tool.
