· 3 min read · savetool.org Team
iPhones can download almost any video from the web — the trick is knowing that downloads go to Files, not Photos. Here's the universal method to download videos on iPhone and save them to Photos.
The universal iPhone method
- Copy the video link from the app (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, Reddit…).
- Open savetool.org in Safari and paste the link.
- Choose HD MP4 (video) and tap Download, then Download HD MP4.
- Tap the download arrow in Safari's toolbar, or open Files → Downloads.
- Open the video → Share → Save Video.
Platform-specific guides
- Save TikToks to camera roll
- Save Instagram Reels to camera roll
- Save YouTube videos to Photos
- X / Twitter video downloader
Change where Safari saves downloads
Go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads and choose *iCloud Drive* or *On My iPhone*.
Saving audio on iPhone
Choose MP3 (audio) instead. MP3s stay in Files (Photos doesn't store audio) and play in the Files app or any music player.
